The goal? Turn our entire Product and Engineering team into "friendly hackers" for a day to hunt for vulnerabilities and strengthen our core.

Focus Over Features: A Commitment to Quality
One of the most important aspects of this day is our "Zero-Feature" policy. For 24 hours, we hit the brakes on all new development. No new features, no roadmap pressure, no shipping new code.
We believe that true technical maturity means knowing when to stop building and start hardening. By dedicating 100% of our engineering brainpower to quality and security, we ensure that the foundations of Symbiotic remain unshakeable. This is where our senior engineers' expertise truly shines—diving deep into the architecture to find what others might miss.
A Gamified Hunt
We believe that rigorous security work can—and should—be engaging. We designed the day as a high-stakes competition:
The Live Leaderboard: Every bug found earned points, with a real-time ranking keeping the competitive spirit alive.
The 1-Hour Rule: To keep things productive, if a participant didn't find a new bug within an hour, they had to switch gears and start fixing existing ones.
Pizza & Points: Fuel is essential! A team pizza lunch provided the perfect break to swap "exploit" stories before diving back into the code.
Why We "Break" Our Own Product
Beyond the thrill of the hunt, this ritual serves a much deeper purpose:
Product Excellence: It allows us to patch edge cases that might be missed during standard QA.
Cross-Team Learning: Junior and senior developers share their different approaches to security testing.
Security as a Team Sport: It reinforces the idea that security is everyone's responsibility, not just a final checklist.
A New Quarterly Ritual
This isn't a one-off event. We are officially making the Bug Bounty Day a regular fixture at Symbiotic. It’s the perfect embodiment of our mindset: to build the best security tools on the market, we must be our own toughest critics.
